On a cold winter night nearing Christmas, the volunteers of the Fiato Foundation (Elijah Mei, Morgan Barlow, Mira Kelly Villa, Chiara Del Rio-Ascolese, Andrew Yan, Caleb Tsai) gathered for their first-ever fundraising event. The atmosphere was festive, with a palpable sense of excitement in the air. Each volunteer was assigned specific roles to ensure the event's success, reflecting the teamwork and dedication that the Fiato Foundation is known for. Some volunteers were tasked with capturing the evening's memorable moments through photography, while others assisted the audience, ensuring everyone felt welcomed and comfortable. The heart of the evening, however, lay in the musical performances.

A carefully curated selection of Christmas repertoires had been prepared in advance, featuring beloved festive classics such as “White Christmas” and “Carol of the Bells.” The performers played these pieces with passion and joy, bringing the magic of the season to life and illustrating the profound impact that music can have on the human spirit. The melodies resonated throughout the venue, introducing the audience to the joy that music can bring, and fostering a sense of community and shared celebration.

Other volunteers worked diligently behind the scenes, setting up the keyboard and
speakers, and arranging banners around the performers. Their efforts ensured that the technical aspects of the event ran smoothly, allowing the music to take center stage.

The evening was not only a celebration of music and the holiday season but also a powerful demonstration of the Fiato Foundation’s mission. The donations collected during the event were earmarked for various foster children, particularly those supported by Olive Crest, an organization dedicated to providing safe, loving homes for children in need. Every note played and every donation received was a step towards making a difference in these children’s lives, embodying the true spirit of Christmas.
